Francisco Fernandes, signs as XICOFRAN, is considered as one of the great talents in the artistic world of his generation. Known as the “Pintor do Jazz” he was born in Luanda, Angola in 1969.
He completed the Superior Interior Design course at the Superior School of Decorative Arts (ESAD), which ended in 1994. During this period, he began his participation in various exhibitions and painting contests.

In 2002, it was fortunate that XicoFran crossed paths with António Inverno. The Master with his humility and wisdom, passed to XicoFran the most important techniques and knowledge, which Xicofran still uses in his works, namely the Balance of the screens and the magnificent points of Light.

One of the most striking and recognized characteristics in his painting is the form, as he manages to represent the movement advocated by the silhouette of a musician, more specifically the Jazz musician, transposing to the canvas the dragging of gestures and all the vibration of the instruments, thematic which dominates with a very personal and very characteristic stamp and whose technique and trait is already recognized worldwide.
